Desde luego, pienso que mientras la propia persona todavía es persona, sería ella la que debería decidir qué hacer o no hacer ante una previsible degeneración hacia el estado vegetal... Luego le correspondería a la familia más cercana, si es que no lo ha realizado la misma persona a tiempo, pues al fin y al cabo son ellos los que van a soportar la carga si deciden mantener las constantes vitales de eso que antaño fue una persona querida...
Sin embargo, en el caso de un monstruito asesino psicópata sin remedio, en mi opinión harían falta equipos científicos y médicos muy especializados, bien remunerados y bien controlados, para diagnosticar la posible irreversibilidad... Más tarde, y ante dichos informes y un debate amplio, los individuos deberían tomar una decisión por amplia mayoría con madurez -juas-... Si hubiese alguna duda en los informes significaría que el cerebro de ese ser todavía tendría alguna remota posibilidad de llegar a ser el de una persona, y por lo tanto, los casos de sometimiento a votación popular deberían ser contados... Pero aún así, si algún genocida de estos fuera condenado a morir por todos nosotros, el problema que queda es quién lo mata... Te aseguro que yo, tras dicho proceso, no tendría problema en quitarle la vida lo más rápidamente posible a dicha aberración de nuestra sociedad, siempre que se me remunerara la penosa tarea al menos igual que a los científicos y médicos encargados de estudiar el cerebro enfermo en cuestión...
Como ves, querida Brocco, por eso el tema se queda como mera opinión personal que trata de encontrar paralelismos, tal y como tú comentabas... Porque lo lógico, en mi opinión, sería invertir auténticas millonadas en la prevención de los malos tratos infantiles, en la educación integral, en la protección de menores, la asistencia a padres y especialmente a familias marginales, etc, etc...

En mi malvada opinión, el mayor problema no es el de no prolongar la vida por medio de reanimación y de todo tipo de máquinas y medicamentos cuando ya se es vegetal sin remedio, sino que viene cuando una vez se desconectan los aparatos ese cuerpo sigue "viviendo" sin ayudas, aunque sin poder desarrollar una vida... Ahí está el archiconocido debate... Porque el dejar morir por sus medios es una cosa, y el ayudar a morir otra muy distinta... Yo estoy a favor de ambas cuando ya no hay posibilidad de recuperación, aunque para la eutanasia miraría si cabe más con lupa cada caso concreto, pues podría dar lugar a asesinatos (por dinero en la mayoría de los casos, claro está).
En fin, temillas complicados..., sobretodo cuando hablamos de la merma importante de facultades mentales y el cuerpo sigue en funcionamiento como si de un relojillo se tratase (más aún si la persona no ha dejado dicho nada de antemano para dichos casos). Pero si entráramos a hablar de auténticos psicópatas peligrosísimos y de pena de muerte, el cuidado debería ser más que exquisito..., si es que algún día logramos estar en condiciones reales (no como se realiza de manera aberrante en EEUU) de poner en práctica sin dudas semejante medida para casos concretísimos.
